A Historic Farewell: Year 13 Graduation Ceremony 2025

This year’s graduation ceremony was a truly memorable occasion for the entire LIS community. Thirty-two students from Year 13, representing fourteen countries across six continents, received their high school diplomas, making the Class of 2025 the largest graduating cohort in the history of our school.

The event brought together students, staff, and families to celebrate the incredible journey and achievements of this remarkable class. The ceremony opened with warm and thoughtful remarks from Mr. Grant, our Secondary Principal, followed by the Roaring Pride Choir, who paid tribute to the 2025 graduates.

The evening was filled with pride, joy, goodbyes, and more than a few tears. Several of the speakers grew emotional during their speeches, reflecting just how much the LIS Community meant to everyone.

Among the graduates, four students have been part of LIS since their Early Years. Two of them took to the stage to offer a rare and personal perspective on what it means to grow within this community.

Student voices remained at the heart of the celebration. One of the graduates spoke about their CAS program journey, highlighting impactful project initiatives that not only served the community but also helped them discover the true meaning of leadership and change-making.

Daniela, the Valedictorian of the Class of 2025 delivered a speech on the invaluable and countless lessons she learned alongside her cohort. Among them were connection, presence, and genuine recognition, qualities that not only brought them closer together but also shaped her experience at LIS.

A particularly touching moment came when Ms. Susana, the IB Diploma Programme Coordinator, shared a heartfelt gesture with the graduates. Each student received a small star, a symbolic keepsake to carry forward as they step into this new phase of their lives, reminding them that they already shine and are ready to go beyond.

Another surprise came in the form of a heartfelt video message from Ms. Rene, former IB Diploma Programme Coordinator. She shared, “Believe, persist, and change,” a powerful reminder to the graduates.

To close the evening, Ms. Bridget, the school Director, expressed gratitude to the entire teaching team, who have guided and championed this group of students from start to finish. She further took a moment to recognize the incredible diversity of the Class of 2025. She emphasized that this reflects not only on the graduates whose diversity helped them grow into a unique and strong group, but also on the wider LIS community.

This year’s graduation ceremony was surely one to remember. To the Class of 2025: We are proud of you!  Keep shining, keep striving, and never stop believing.

Congratulations, graduates!
