Sport, Arts, and School Spirit

LIS travelled to South Africa to participate in the SAISA Cape Town 2026 Sports and Arts Festival, bringing together seven schools for three vibrant days of competition, creativity, and collaboration. Throughout the event, our students represented LIS with pride, commitment, and enthusiasm.
Day One opened with high-energy basketball matches and the launch of SAISA’s arts programme.

The girls’ basketball team recorded two confident victories:

  • LIS vs. BMIS – 15–4
  • LIS vs. AISJ – 21–9

The boys faced a closely contested match against ISL, finishing 22–26, demonstrating determination and strong teamwork.
Alongside sport, students engaged in inspiring arts workshops, including Musical Theatre, Vocals, Music, and Visual Arts. The day concluded with the Opening Ceremony and Social Evening, where the LIS Band delivered outstanding performances, warmly received by the audience.

Day Two featured thrilling matches and continued artistic collaboration.
Basketball highlights included victories for the boys against TASOK (27–6) and BMIS (34–24), and a dramatic 29–29 overtime draw against AISCT. The atmosphere was electric, with strong support from across the schools.
In the arts programme, students continued to create, collaborate, and connect, enriching the SAISA experience.
The festival concluded with final matches and celebratory performances.
