Shaping Global Citizens: LIS Students at ECAMUN Nairobi
ECAMUN in Nairobi was an exciting event with over 600 students from schools in East and Central Africa, hosted at the famous KICC venue in central Nairobi. LIS students participated in debating and modeling global diplomacy in the Security Council, the Human Rights Committee, and the Economic and Political Committee.
We were assigned the delegations of Denmark and Colombia, and our students researched the positions of these countries and represented their interests in the debates. Our Ambassador was Clenio, and he presented a resolution from Denmark in the Political committee and defended it well, only to have it narrowly defeated in the voting.
All our students represented LIS with decorum and learned a lot about the challenges of getting everyone to agree. We rounded up our adventures with a chance to feed giraffes and to view spectacular wildlife in the Nairobi national park.
We would like to thank everyone who worked hard to make the trip possible and to support us.
