Kicking Off the Year as a Community

The Parent Association marked the beginning of the school year with a picnic on the sports field, offering new and returning families a chance to settle into the year ahead. LISA the Lion, the school’s mascot, was also there to greet guests, adding a playful element to the occasion and helping make the afternoon especially welcoming for those joining the community.

Moments like these also play an important role in building a connected school environment. Beyond the classroom, informal gatherings create opportunities to form relationships, strengthen a sense of belonging, and become more involved in the life of the school. For those new to LIS in particular, these shared experiences can be an important first step towards feeling at home.

A highlight of the afternoon was the announcement of LIS International Day, the biggest PA-organised event of the year. The announcement gave the community an early opportunity to look forward to a celebration that brings people together to share and appreciate the many cultures and traditions represented at the school.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Parents Association for organising the picnic and for warmly welcoming new and returning families as the new school year began.
