Celebrating Inclusion on the Global Stage

Luanda International School is pleased to share that Ms. Louise Moodley de Matos represented our community as an invited speaker and panellist at the inaugural World Inclusion Congress in Almaty, Kazakhstan, during the October break. This international gathering brought together leaders and specialists dedicated to strengthening inclusive learning environments for all children.

The congress aimed to review and update the historic UNESCO Salamanca Statement (1994) and to begin drafting the next White Paper on Inclusion, which will be launched at the United Nations in 2026. This work reaffirms a global commitment to inclusive education and highlights its continued relevance in today’s evolving educational landscape.

Throughout the three-day event, Ms. Louise led multiple sessions focused on inclusive ecosystems, student support services, parental engagement, socio-emotional wellbeing, and Universal Design for Learning. She contributed insights informed by more than 17 years of experience supporting organisations, families, and children with learning differences.

We appreciate Ms. Louise’s contribution to this global dialogue on inclusion and her ongoing commitment to supporting diverse learners. Her involvement in the congress reflects our school’s continued dedication to fostering an environment where every student feels valued, supported, and able to thrive.
