Year 6 Students Lead Through Service

As part of their commitment to action and community engagement, our Year 6 students recently welcomed children from Casa da Criança to LIS for a day of learning, connection, and shared experiences.

Throughout the day, the children participated in a variety of activities, including swimming, football, gymnastics, and music. These sessions provided opportunities for fun, teamwork, and personal growth, while allowing students to share their skills, enthusiasm, and time with others.

The initiative reflects LIS’s commitment to developing caring and responsible global citizens who understand the importance of giving back to their community. By opening our facilities and creating opportunities for meaningful interaction, students were able to experience firsthand the value of empathy, inclusion, and service.

Beyond the activities themselves, the day was about building relationships, learning from one another, and recognising the positive impact that small acts of kindness can have. It was a powerful reminder that education is not only about what happens in the classroom, but also about how we contribute to the world around us.

We are incredibly proud of our Year 6 students for embracing this opportunity with enthusiasm, compassion, and maturity, demonstrating the values that help make the LIS community so special.
