During the last week of classes, the LIS secondary assembly ended on a high note with a stellar performance by the newly formed “LIS Blues” band. A unique collaboration of students and teachers, the band brought an electrifying energy to the stage that had everyone in the auditorium on their feet.

Representing the teachers were Ms. Caroline, Mr. Brian, and Mr. Paul, while Hannah on the piano, Jackson on the drums, and Parker on the bass took the stage as the student members. They performed a captivating rendition of the “LIS Blues” song, an adaptation of "Seven Nation Army" by The White Stripes. Mr. Paul, inspired by the original song, wrote the lyrics as a whimsical parody that resonated with the daily lives of LIS students. This creative twist added a unique flavor, making it a perfect fit for the diverse talents of the band.

The band’s practice sessions were not only about honing skills but also about fostering an environment of equal collaboration. Students and teachers exchanged feedback, encouraging each other to bring their best to the table. This dynamic allowed every band member to shine and contribute to the overall success of their performance.

Ms.Caroline played a crucial role in nurturing the students' love of music and empowering them to confidently perform. Her dedication and guidance were fundamental in the band's journey. Mr. Duffy, along with Mr. Paul and Ms. Caroline, aimed to share their passion for music and ignite a similar passion among their students.

The band wants everyone to know that they are open to receiving new members. Whether you're a student or a teacher, if you have a passion for music, you are welcome to join them on this exciting journey.
